I followed the Lifehacker tutorial for making a boot and installation USB stick. I can get into the installation procedure with no problems but half way through I get a "Failed to verify xxx.pkg" in the log window. The xxx changes each time. I've read that the G41M is a good board to use despite not having the AHCI option in BIOS. I still haven't gotten past the "Failed to verify" error since starting on my Hackintosh last week but I think it's possibly a disk read error. I'll be resuming my efforts some time this week. Let me know how you get on. Rich
tr309
Turns out I had a faulty RAM stick. When I got new ones and tried the install .. it worked first time. One thing I did differently was to select "Customise" at the start of the install procedure and deselected all additional options. mimicute
hi, i managed to install iAtkos s3 on this board but stuck with the LAN driver because it uses Atheros AR8151 chip and not available for hackintosh. If you are not going to use it for internet then it would be alright. To me, installation went perfect except the LAN cheers
cobrast5
Hello everyone. I have a Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo G41 WD:750Gb hard drive nVidia 210 1024 4Gb DDR Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 I cannot get the retail dvd to work. It crashes during installation and I cannot figure out why. If I take a bootable Hard drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the image over it boots. This method is successful in getting me up and running but I still have an issue with installations. When I try and run and installation for any software the computer kernel panics or just shuts right off. I have read that people have gotten this motherboard to work so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am using the life hacker method. I have tried both the EP45UD3P Snow Leopard method and the ##### method. Both crash in the middle of the installation.
Ravi J
Hey Im a newbie here, so I have to get to so many posts, before I can create a thread. This motherboard is compatible with OSX, however the front panel audio doesnt work, neither does the Lan, VGA works but you dont get Quartz Extreme! But I will keep you updated if I find any drivers. What yah need to download is iatkos s3 and install it it auto sets drivers so nothing to worry about. Currently I have the mobo, and a realteck network card and a 8400gs graphics card. I will be sticking this low budget machiene into a G5 Case, without even cutting it So watch this space. Hello everyone.
