Ankle
Is there anyway to get an internal hardware (NOT win/soft) modem working with OS X? OS X seems to think it should be dialing via the serial port when I choose USR Universal during setup. No broadband available in my area so I'm stuck with dialup before anyone suggets getting broadband. kseelbo
I wouldn't count on it getting an internal modem to work. I had the same problem as you, no broadband. So I tried an older USR 56k external serial modem. It crashed constantly. Then I tried a mac compatible USB modem (Best Data) and it worked well enough to get online, but was problematic. Personally, I would grab one of Apple's 56k USB modems ($35-40). You know it will work out of the box. Good luck. Ankle
What wonderful timing. After 10 years of waiting ADSL is now available. I suppose that solves my problem. *happy dance* Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22928-internal-hardware-modem-support/#findComment-155626 Share on other sites
