dfong
I have been working on my first hackintosh attempt on a pc I already have. I have been trying to work through it for a few days now with the help of these forums but cant seem to get any further. Hardware: Mobo: GF7100PVT-M3 Processor: Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHZ Processor 2 gb ram 500gb Western Digital Caviar HD Video Card: GeForce 8800 GT so the situation I have is that I split my HD into 3 partitions. Two that are 200gb a piece, and 1 that takes up the remainder of the space. I did this so that I could run Windows XP which I just did a fresh install on, Snow Leopard, and maybe Linux later if I feel like screwing around some more. I have been referencing these guides over the past few days in attempts to get through this. via Verdant: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=184224 via Verdant: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1161177 via Krishna: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=219837 Following Krishna's steps, my boot up process for the install cycles through the verbose text on the chameleon backdrop, then cuts to a black screen with white text. The text gets about halfway down my screen usually ending with a message about "netkas boot is a fakesmc or something along those lines". I have tried varying these steps using commands like -x -f -u cpus=1 all to pretty much the exact same avail. Trying to boot the standard way from the Chameleon splash cuts to the white logo where the logo animation appears. It runs for about a minute before i get a circle with a line through it error symbol. The process appears to freeze there. Things that I know are common that I have done. my bios is set to AHCI, not sata or raid. i have read a lot about HPET settings but can find none in my bios, not even the written out acronym my power setup or whatever is set to S3 I am fairly comfortable with most of the things the install should require but am obviously still quite a novice as this is my first attempt. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
