Hi Guys,

I've been watching this forum for quite a long time, now it's time for first post because I want to share my small success.

I've been able to install 10.6.3 Retail on my Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG.

It has:

i5 430M

4GB RAM

switchable GPU's - Intel + ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n

I installed it using ##### Supported & 10.6.3 Retail.

Everything went smooth.

What works:

Processor is recognized as 2.27GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

Wifi was recognized as Airport Extreme (Atheros 9280)

Intel GPU works (1024x768)

What does not:

LAN card

Audio - even though it was recognized as Intel High Definition Audio (dev id 0x1025035D) and even though I'm able to volume it up and down

ATI GPU - :-((( it shows Vendor as ATI (0x1002) DEV ID (0x68c1)

Bluetooth

Is there anything I can try to make ATI GPU up and running? How shall I proceed to make my Audio and LAN cards working?

Regards,

t0mmyK

Hi t0mmyK,

I have the same laptop as you. I have tried to install Mac OS using the #####+##### method. When I do combo upgrade 10.6.6 before #####, it crash at the end of upgrade. Hence, I proceeded with ##### with ##### and system utilities selected. When I reboot, I cannot boot into the Mac OS.

Hence, I would like to ask if you can still remember the steps how you make Mac OS works on the laptop. What are the ##### components that you have selected? And did you remove or edit any KEXT or do combo upgrade?

Thanks. Your help is much appreciated. ;)
