starobrno1
Not sure where to post this so please put it in the right place if this is not. Over the years I´ve been getting problems with a couple of my harddrives. It looks like there´s some kind of hidden partition on them or something, when I format and/or partition them a bit is blue and it reports back less space than what their specs are. In the link under here you can find a good tool to really erase your harddrives in fact make them like "new" at least if it´s harddrive from 2001 and up. You need a floppy disk and drive cause you run this from DOS. I guess most people don´t have them these days but maby you can borrow your parents or some friends old steamegine computer. This tool was developed to securely erase data from harddrives you know really erase the data so it´s not recoverable at all cause next step is put a drill in it physically destroy it. But it can also come in handy in a case like your harddrive is messsed up and it does´nt work just to format them. I´ve even fixed an old totally dead hardrive I found in a computer from the scrapyard, I needed a case for experimental project so I went there and picked up a trashed old computer. Turned out it worked just fine, all that was was the probs with the harddrive. That old steam egine is running OSX like a charm these days. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/storage/how-to-r...-hard-drive/
