Try booting with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048

 

 

I know there is a lot of reading to do but my blog nForce chipset MOBO + Intel CPU install guides for distros (Snow Leopard and Leopard), and my nForce chipset MOBO + Intel CPU Snow Leopard Install Guide here and my Leopard nForce Series 7 thread here do offer much helpful advice...... ;)

 

If you always need to use cpus=1 to boot, then once you get a working Leopard OS X system installed, you need to use a modified DSDT.aml file in /Extra..........so use fassl's DSDT Patcher to generate a dsdt.aml file and post it here and I will look at it for you.........

I managed to install iDeneb, but now, at the startup hangs on the first screen (the one with the gray apple ) and should not be more forward...

 

how to solve the problem?

Boot with -v and post a screenshot of the error/kernel panic........

This error is not unexpected............as MSI MOBOs often need a DSDT string-modded BIOS.....or a modded DSDT.aml file in /Extra or in / directory.........e.g. MSI P7N nForce 750i SLI Platinum......I will see what I can do for you on this now but it may take a little while..........

 

EDIT:

 

1. Set up your BIOS according to the 750i OS X settings template in post #1 here......

 

2. See if you can boot iDeneb with

-v platform=ACPI|86PC cpus=1 maxmem=2048, or

-v -legacy platform=ACPI|86PC cpus=1 maxmem=2048 or

-v platform=X86PC cpus=1 maxmem=2048, or

-v -legacy platform=X86PC cpus=1 maxmem=2048

 

If you can, jump to step 7......

 

If not, then:

 

3. Download Kalyway 10.5.2 Install DVD distro.......... :)

 

Boot with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048..........then in Customise:

 

Additional Fonts [Choose to suit your requirements]

Language Translations [Choose to suit your requirements]

4. If this works and you can boot into Leopard 10.5.2 using cpus=1..........then run the Chameleon 2.0 RC3 or RC4 installer......

 

5. Then put this DSDT.aml file in the /Extra or in / directory

MSI_P7N_nForce_750i_SLI_Platinum_DSDT_.zip

 

6. Reboot with -v to see if you can boot without needing cpus=1........

 

7. If you can, then run fassl's DSDT Patcher and then zip up the dsdt.dsl file and post a download link.......

I also installed Chameleon rc3, but when I put the file in the folder extra DSDT and reboot, the system stops on the white screen with the clock running endlessly. to fall (again using cpus = 1) I delete the file from xp DSDT.

 

it does not work audio networks, and does not recognize the 2 video cards ......

Generate the dsdt.dsl file for your actual MOBO setup using fassl's DSDT Patcher and I will take a look at it for you......

 

Generating dsdt.dsl file:

 

1. Copy fassl's DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e.zip file to the Desktop and double click it to extract it.

 

2. Open a Terminal window (Application -> Utilities) and then type the following commands ($ being the default shell prompt - DO NOT TYPE the $ !)

 

$ cd ~/Desktop/DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e

$ ./DSDT\ Patcher

 

Please do not forget the \ after DSDT and the space before Patcher

 

3. At this point a question about which platform you wish to emulate will appear. Choose 0 (zero) to emulate Darwin.

 

The program will then generate a number of files in folders within the DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e directory on the Desktop, and also may issue a few warnings that can be ignored safely at this stage.

 

4. Zip the dsdt.dsl file and post me a download link to it.........

 

For Ethernet networking, run eno's nForceLAN.kext installer from here.........

 

For audio, I believe you need to use a Realtek ALC888 kext.......

 

For your two 8800 GTS graphics cards, see here as a start............

I resolved to connect to the network by installing a

second card.

I find nothing for audio, while for 8800 gts

nvijetGOD when I install, after having repaired permissions

and restarted, the system goes in loop on boot and I had

reinstall all over again

 

any help and 'welcome .......

As I assume you have installed Kalyway 10.5.2 successfully and it works......then:

 

OS X does not support SLI but for dual 8800GTS see here.....

 

I believe your audio chipset is a Realtek ALC888........so see here.......and your onboard LAN chipset is a Realtek RTL8211BL but try eno's nForceLAN.kext......

 

If these all work, then let me know........we can then see about updating to 10.5.8........

How do I upgrade?

After nearly a year I'm trying to install leopard again. I deleted the previous configuration the two 8800 GTS (SLI), replaced by a asus engtx 480 (1353 MB DDR5).

I've followed all the instructions given to me from verdant (which I never thanked enough)

everything works. I need only the right kext for the gtx 480 .....

Who can help me fix it?
