Hi everyone,

I'd like to get a (any) working OS x on my new dell studio 15 laptop (it runs on a core i5). The only thing I'm gonna use the OS for is to develop iPhone apps so I don't really care what version (snow, leopard, cheetah...) of the OS I need to install as long as it's a working one where I can use xcode and the other stuff needed to develop for iphone.

I'm pretty much a n00b with messing around with bios and hardware and i'd rather not have to reinstall windows 7 just to be able to get a partition for the OS (unless it's possible to "split" a partition in two without having to reinstall). so the point is that i'd rather use a live dvd-usb key to run the OS, but if that's not an option then i'd like to be able to dual-boot windows 7 and the osx.

the laptop config is:

Intel Core,i5-450M

6gb ddr3 ram

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

integrated audio but i don't care if audio is gonna work or not

So here come the questions!

Is it possible to run a mac OS on this configuration?

Which version of the OS should I (try to) install? which one is the easiest?

Does a live-dvd/usb key booted os run smoothly or is it better to just install it to the hard disk? Can I save data on a live booted os just as if the usb key was the os HD partition?

thanks everyone for reading and in advance for helping!
