truespin411
I have a sony vaio with a 1.7GHZ dothan (SSE2) 512ram ati mobility 9700, widescreen lcd native 1280x800 I have a 20 gig partition (80 total) set aside for OSX. My laptop comes stock with AC97 sound (kext i have available) and ipw2200BG wifi. I removed my ipw2200bg to visually inspect it knowing that I would have to invest in a new mini pci card if I wanted wifi working in native mode as I am not holding my breath on an ipw2200BG driver for osx. Mini-pci problem: Upon reinstalling the ipw2200bg card, it no longer functions or is detected in XP. Question: What distro/version would you recommend I use when installing (from vmware) then running natively? Which specific patches would I need to apply? I just ordered a Dell Truemobile 1450 mini pci card off ebay for 25$. Vanderlee
I think you can't install OS X on you dothan processor from vmware, because ur processor doesn't support PAE. The only thing you can do is install it from natively.. *That's the way I did* But sometimes OS X running so slowly in my notebook (Our spec is similar), maybe we need to upgrade our RAM Gudluck.
