ALL OF THIS WAS DONE ON AN EXISTING MAC SYSTEM NOTE: YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A PS2 KEYBOARD AND MOUSE... TRY USB 7) Plug in Your 8gb Flash Drive to your NEW I7 SYSTEM and boot into BIOS 8) NOTE IF THIS DOES NOT WORK PLEASE FLASH YOUR BIOS TO VERSION 0808 AT THE ASUS WEBSITE 9) Configure Your Drives to AHCI... THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT 10) NOTE... YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR HDD IN SATA PORT 1... YOUR CD DRIVE IN SATA PORT 3... XFX HD 5770 IN PCI EXPRESS PORT 1 11)Exit and save Bios... BOOT INTO THE [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] CD eject the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] cd... insert your retail snow leopard cd... and press F5 13) You should see a chameleon boot screen simply move the arrow keys so that your installer usb is selected and type -v THIS WILL BOOT INTO VERBOSE MODE 13b) Then Select Disk Utility 13c) Partition your drive to 2 partitions... select the GUID Partition Table... name one windows 7 and make it MSDOS FAT and name the other Macintosh HD and make the format Mac OS Extended Journaled (top one) Then Click Apply 13d) Choose your Macintosh Partition 14) Run Through the normal Snow Leopard Install and if you wish to deselect and options you do not like... if you wish to check the customize button 15) Restart continuously press F8 all over again EXCEPT THIS TIME BOOT INTO THE USB AND BOOT INTO THE MACINTOSH PARTITION 16) SELECT YOUR MAC PARTITION TYPE -V AGAIN.... 17) SETUP YOUR MAC ACCOUNT ... (YOU MAY WANNA REMOVE THE ETHERNET) 18) YAY... YOU HAVE FINALLY BOOTED INTO THE SNOW LEOPARD GUI CONGRATS 19) download the 10.6.4 combo update SIMPLY SEARCH 10.6.4 COMBO UPDATE IN GOOGLE 20) install mac os x combo update BUT DO NOT RESTART OTHERWISE YOU COULD GET KERNEL PANIC 21) DOWNLOAD AND RUN THE INSTALLER FOR [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]... 22) SELECT A PS/2 FIX AND THAT ANYTHING ELSE YOU WISH TO HAVE... [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] WILL FIX KERNEL PANICS BY ITSELF DO NOT INSTALL GRAPHICS SINCE THIS IS NON-DSDT PLEASE SELECT ALL THE NON-DSDT PATCHES 23) Once the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] has finished and exited you can restart your computer 24) CONTINUOUSLY PRESS F8 AND BOOT FROM THE [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] CD... select your macintosh install and press -v 24B) IF YOU HAVE MOUSE PROBLEMS RESTART, PRESS F8, SELECT USB, SELECT OS X PARTITION AFTER ALREADY USING [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] CD 25) DOWNLOAD THESE CORRESPONDING LINKS download link for 64 bit download link for 32 bit 26) Since This Build is only MAC you should choose 64 bit... but if you want windows as well you should choose 32 bit 64 bit tutorial (NOTE IF YOU WANT DUAL BOOT YOU SHOULD GO WITH 32 BIT RIGHT NOW) 27) download the 64 bit files 28) install everything using kext helper b7 (google is your friend) 29) install the asere boot loader package 30) click on go at the top of the screen 31) type in /extra/ and goto that folder 32) copy com.apple.Boot.plist to your desktop 33) edit it so that it contains this <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>InstantMenu</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> 34) copy it back to your /extra/ folder and replace it and then reboot your computer... if everything is successful then you should now bask in 1080p glory... or less 32 BIT TUTORIAL 27) download 32 bit files 28) use kext helper b7 to install all the files including ATY_INIT 29) click on go then goto the folder /extra/ 30) copy com.apple.boot.plist to your desktop 31) edit it so it has something like this <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> <key>InstantMenu</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> 32) Place your modified com.apple.boot.plist into your /extra/ directory 33) Reboot your computer and boot with any version of chameleon may it be usb... efi... cd ANYTHING... this is the main advantage in my opinion Dual Boot Tutorial When you created 2 partitions in disk utility you really created 3... one is just 200 mb because it is for efi... which is the mac way for booting 34) TAKE OUT YOUR SNOW LEOPARD INSTALL CD... USB... ETC. OTHERWISE WINDOWS INSTALLATION WILL FAIL 35) Put in your windows 7 disk and goto the installation until you reach the partition window 36) Click on Drive Options (advanced) 37) highlight your windows 7 partition and hit format... ValJr Posted September 16, 2012 Share Posted September 16, 2012 I have a build close to yours, my problem is to update to Mountain Lion, any luck on your system? When I try to install Mountain Lion trough my usb 8gb pen driver, I get stuck, nothing happen! Did you have ML intalled?
