Seaching .kexts for Radeon X1400

Hi guys,

 

I installed iPC 10.5.6 on my T60.

It runs well but I really need to enable Quartz Extreme

I have an ATI Radeon X1400 but I just cant get it to work with Quartz Extreme.

Without any extra kext it runs only with 1024x768 resolution and without Quartz support.

 

I tried different kexts from the forum but I either got kernel panic or an endless circle at the start-up...:

 

The first kexts i tried were from here:

(I know that this kext is for 10.6.3 but I thought it might work anyway...)

I always installed the ATIRadeonX1000.kext and the RadeonHD.kext by using Kext Helper 0.7.

 

Since that gave me a Kernel Panic after the reboot I deleted the two kexts again (by booting with the -x flag) and installed the ones from the ATI_Kexts_modified.zip

Those new kexts allowed me to start up OSX but the screen had some random pixels everywhere (It was mainly black with the dock and the task-bar cut out as white frames, strangely the mouse pointer was just normal)

So I was forced to remove those kext too.

 

After that I read that somebody got the X1400 to work by editing the original ATIRadeonX1400.kext, I edited the info.plist within the contents of the kext file.

I replaced 0x71461002 with 0x71451002 ...

 

It didnt work either...another kernel panic, so I had to remove this kext too.

 

The last thing I did was using Universal Installer to force the start-up resolution to 1400x1050 and I enabled Quartz GL. That worked well and at least I have now a resolution of 1400x1050 instead of just 1024x768 but Quartz Extreme still doesn't work.

 

I hope somebody can post the correct kexts or tell me what I have to do or what I did wrong...

 

I would really appreciate your help and thank you since I spend now many hours reading through topics and desperately trying to fix my Quartz Extreme...
