mutahir
Hi All, Here after a long time - had been busy with life but the curioisity has once again led me back to the forum :-) it is good to see alot of new members and alot of progress. I just got this optiplex 780 usff with Intel Q45 Express Chipset w/ICH10DO chipset. It has a celeron (hardware virtualization supported) processor. I have downloaded Boot-132 and I have a retail Snow Leopard 10.6 Disc with me. First Boot : Loaded the disc fine and then stuck on Apple Boot screen with a circle and red sign, left it like for 20minutes - no response. -- Went into the bios, Enabled CPU LIMIT RAID ON AHCI SATA (thats the option in the Bios - I have only one HDD) Rebooted with Boot-132, won't even load the SL Retail disc ? --- Any thoughts or suggestions would be really helpful. Also, I am in process of building a system, if someone can give a couple of mobos and processor names, which are vanilla compatible - that would be great. Thanks for reading Kind Regards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/227126-optiplex-780-usff-intel-q45-express-chipset-wich10do/ Share on other sites
PookyMacMan
If you want to run a vanilla system, the only consideration is processor: you will need a mobo that supports Intel Core or Intel Xeon processors (Core 2 or better or Xeon if you want to run Lion). Try to avoid Core 2 Quad if possible.
