Hi. I have an Atheros AR9285 wireless card which is not working on my laptop. It can be recognized but can't turn on. dmesg says: "ATHR: unknown locale: 60". I googled and found this post by Jorge Rosa (#6) said:

fix it to your country (ask a friend who has a real mac in your country about your country code and locale), fill in, and luckily scanning and having native airport extreme working

I have a iMac 21.5" and it's wireless card is AR9280, I can get the country code and locale, but how do I fill in these things? Please, can anyone help me?

Thanks.

David, you are barking up the wrong tree. Read a little bit more about the chip and you will see that while the names are similar the 9285 and 9280 chips are very different. No simple hack will get the 9285 card working. Either replace the card or patiently wait for someone to write a driver for it.

Oh. So the problem isn't the country code and locale code. :)
