Dual boot snow leopard / win 7 with dual graphic card ?

Hello there,

 

I just get my hands on a 2006 MacPro (with dual boot SL/Windows 7) and I want to upgrade graphic card with a EVGA GTS 250 1Go. I know that this card will not work on mac side but only on win.

 

I wonder if I can leave the 7300 card for mac to boot and work on snow leopard and install the PC card on a free PCI-e slot to play games on windows 7.

 

I saw on forums (mainly about hackintoshes) the expression "helper card" which seems to be approx. the thing I want to setup.

 

By the way, if this is possible, does it harm cards or computer on a long term ?
