Hello,

I am trying to install Snow Leopard on my Sony Vaio Z1290X. I boot from the ##### supported CD and when I put the snow leopard CD in and press F5 the CD appears as e=, it may be =e, either way I cannot move over to the CD. (I have linux installed and that is the first Icon however I can move with the arrow keys when I see the #####-Supported CD.

Any help would be greatly appriciated. I have an iOS application development course this fall and it is imparitive that I get a Snow Leopard running.

Thanks!!

I managed to find a different copy of snow leopard and I cannot get to the "Select your language"

I see the following that might be relevant when I boot with -x -v

Bug: launchtrl.c:3557 (23930):17: ioctl(s6, SIOCAIFADDR_IN6, &ifra6) != -1
nvram: Error getting variable - 'boot-args': (iokit/common) data was not found
BootCacheControl: Could not unlink playlist /var/db/BootCache.playlist: Read-only file system
Bug: launchctl.c2325 (23930):30: (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, ORDONLY | O_EXLOCK | O_CREAT, S__IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1
systemShutdown false
Previous shutdown Cause: 3
ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::Start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out

The last line that I see is:
AppleIntelE1000e: Ethernet address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Are any of these preventing me from installing Snow leopard?

Thanks!!
