leplep
ok so after much confusion i have worked out that the "Still waiting for root device" error i get during the boot from DVD is due to me not having a chipset driver I assume this driver needs to be installed / added into the ISO (then re-burnt to DVD) so i can install OSX86. I think i know how to do this using something like transmac However no matter where i look i CANT find out WHICH chipset driver and/or where/how i might get this driver. If anyone can help me on either of these points it would be much appreciated (trying to install iPC osX86 10.5.6) My specs: DQ965GF Intel Desktop Board Intel D945GCLL BIOS 5150 Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86gHz 3GB DDR2 RAM 640MB 8800GTS nVidia (can unplug this if needed) IDE Sony DVD read/write combo drive IDE 80GB HD (am using this as my test drive so i dont stuff my current windows install) (also have a 500GB SATA drive currently not plugged in) Genius PCI Audio Acceleration card (can unplug this if needed) Realtek Network card (this is unplugged during install as it was causing errors) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/226578-1056-chipset-driver/ Share on other sites
