Trying to install Snow.Leopard.10.6.1-10.6.2.SSE2.SSE3.Intel.AMD.www.dayn.org on my Gateway FX6840 03e.

will not go to install screen, gets through trying to load kernal, shows the white screen for about .025 secs, then reboots.

On boot for install, i get a kernel panic:

Panic (cpu0caller 0x00177DE2F): "pmap_steal_memory"@/VoodooKernel/xnu -1228.758/osfmk/vm/vm_resident.c:628

I have tried various methods, but only got this info when i booted:

-v maxmem=4096 busratio=20 -x

i have 8gb ram

Gateway system Mobo with Intel h57 chipset.

core i7 860 @2.80

Radeon 5770

barracuda 1TB

Any thoughts on how to get into the install screen?

Thanks!
