sam.tyler Posted July 22, 2010 Share Posted July 22, 2010 Hi All I'm considering adding more RAM to my hackintosh (4G -> 8 G) The mainboard of my hackisntosh is a P5QL Pro with with Vanilla Snow Leopard installation (no bios or kernel mods). The OS has been subsequently updated from 10.6.0 to 10.6.3. I wonder if under Snow Leopard, my machine would recognize the amount of RAM correctly and it would still be running normally (as presently) after adding more RAM. Can anyone please share your experience in installing and using more than 4G Ram on a P5QL Pro? Thank you very much. I have a similar MB, Asus P5E Deluxe, but with just 2GB RAM, and i´m using Unity 3D and Blender, and works really good.. i´m not sure if there is another software requiring more... Space-Man, thanks for your reply. I'm using After Effects and Premiere CS5. Wish to make the ram preview and rendering of final output to run more smoothly and faster. Some memory region addresses will change in DSDT when you add more memory. If you're using a patched DSDT, redump your DSDT after adding more RAM, search through the DSDTs for the word 'memory', compare the numbers and edit your patched DSDT accordingly. If you're not using a patched DSDT you don't need to do anything.
