S-O
Hey man, new to the forums here, but I have been on a forum reading frenzy, I too have a Toshiba a505, different model, with practically same hardware. I also can get to the install screen, using either the EMPIRE EFI or #####. But When I do get there, I also have no keyboard and mouse. I really need help guys! Haha, can anyone help out with how to go about fixing this? I tried plugging in a mac keyboard and mac mouse, and while the light for the mouse is on, it doesn't move the mouse on screen. I am stuck at the choose your language. Could it possibly be graphics drivers? I have gotten Snow Leopard to work on Virtual Machine, but no luck with retail install disk. Thanks guys! -Shaun

A step in the right direction maybe? well i also thought about modifying the boot loader with kext or dsdt but could not figure that out yet cuz i really havent had the time to read up on it. but keep us posted as i will do the same. comon we r all toshiba a505's in this 1 so we gotta make it count and put our brains together so the only way i think we could do this is by using something like magic iso to open and extract the boot cd or iso. then change or replace something for the keyboard, mouse and usb. something like the iousbfamily kext so we could at least try to connect a usb mouse or keyboard. S-O
Yeah, I was thinkingthe same thing. I have SL running on VM, so I could open up the .dmg, and hopefully copy it over and compare the two. That way, patch the dsdt as needed and make sure to include the usb. Once installed, then we can start getting everything else working. Still reading up on the issue. Gotta have this done by next Wednesday as I need this for college haha. Anyone with a little more expertise care to chime in?

benzin2
Heh, I was just thinking in this direction, read more here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=225465 yes this is this the unpatched vanillia dsdt. how do i patch it??? I remember asking myself the same question. I surfed through much info on patching the DSDT, but couldn't figure out how to apply instructions to my DSDT, it's much more complicated than the examples given in most tutorials/guides. Maybe it's worth to try with unmodified DSDT first and see if there is any progress.
