Kernel panic install dvd

I have a copy of iPC 10.5.6, but when I boot from the dvd I get kernel panic with a message about realtime-clock, the strange thing is that the install cd works perfectly on my mates computer and he configuration is almost identical to mine. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
