MSI ATI 4890 no QE/CI, no resolution in 10.6.2

I've tried pretty much everything.

 

My specs:

 

Chameleon RC2, PC EFI 10.6?

SL 10.6.2 (Hazard)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7850 Black

2 gb ram

MSI ATI Radeon HD4890 w/ 850 clock and 975 memory (has 1 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA)

 

I installed 10.6.2 after a bunch tries and got my HD sound working great, everything is working out of the box. Everything that is, except my video card.

 

I've searched all over the internet, I've done the ATI.ROM, the QE.CI patch from netkas, tried the Legacy text, tried ATY.INIQ or w/e and tried to boot into 32bit mode, EVOENabler, etc.. No dice. I never get a kernel error, I always just get garbled/artifacted visuals.

It's even happened to where it was black w/ white spots of pixels everywhere.

 

After that happens, I have to rm -r ATI* to get it to boot out of safe mode again.

 

Something kind of odd -- the mac sees my card in System Profiler, but lists it's ram at 256mb when it's 1 GB!

 

Either way, nothing I've seen so far has worked, but chances are I might have blotched it up trying so many things!

 

EDIT: Things to note: I have two monitors, 1 connected via HDMI and one via VGA. Dual monitors working would be nice(extended) but I would just like to get it working at this point. I'm willing to sacrifice using one monitor if needed.

 

I don't want to flash my card, I don't want to reinstall OSX, but I'm willing to update if I need to.

 

 

Can anyone PLEASE get me working?

Delete all unnecessary kexts (aty_init etc) but the originals. install qe/ci exotic for 10.6.2 from netkas http://netkas.org/?p=315, install boot file pc efi 10.6 (or chameleon rc5 pre 11). it should be works. I recommend 10.6.3 update
