James117
Hello everyone, I have spent a solid 3 hours trying to get my Snow Leopard to install but with no success. It gets stuck at "Still waiting for root device". I know this means that it can't find where it is meant to install but I can't do anything about it, I am totally stuck. I use 2 hard drives and 1 dvd drive, I have used each hard drive on its own, both as master and slave, also both together with the bios settings so they can both be used and so only one can be used. I'm beat. I have searched everywhere in my bios and can't find AHCI which is meant to help this problem. I have tried by pressing F8 then -x and also F8 then cpu=1 (even tried cpu=4 just to see but it didn't help) I used a Gigabyte EP31-DS3l with an Intel Q940 and any help at all would be much much appreciated cos I'm totally beat. I did test this disk on my laptop and it would load up fine, but not on my desktop. Thanks anyone that can shed some light on this problem Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/225288-installation-cant-find-hard-drive-at-all/ Share on other sites
