OSX crashes when NTFS formatted drives are connected

I have 4x Sata hard drives in my computer, 3 of the drives are NTFS formatted and were disconnected when I installed OSX.

I installed OSX using this guide: Kakewalk: Minimal effort install (EP45, EX58, P55, G41), Kakewalk is a simple vanilla method for installing Snow Leopard

My OSX install works perfectly until I re-connect my 3x NTFS drives, 2x of thise drives are in Raid 0.

When OSX boots it will crash at the desktop saying it can not mount my NTFS drives, the mouse and keyboard will not respond.

How can I fix this? the only way i can boot in to OSX is by disconnecting my NTFS drives.

May I ask you if you use native NTFS support?

If so, please install NTFS-3G or Paragon NTFS (I recommend the second one). And please do not ever never enable native write support for NTFS. There are some hacks around, which adds write feature to NTFS in Snow Leopard. I used it for a while and trust me, OSX became a nightmare to use.

As far as i'm aware I have not enabled any sort of NTFS support, I installed Kakewalk with my NTFS drives disconnected so I didn't accidentally mess them up.

How would I check if NTFS support is enabled or not?

I would sooner OSX just ignored my NTFS drives all together if possible.

Thanks, Paragon NTFS allows OSX to boot fine and even read my download drive.

OSX still complains it can not read my 2x drives in Raid 0 that are NTFS formatted, most likely because OSX doesn't have a raid driver i would guess?

Can i just get it to ignore those two drives? if I click eject it doesn't bug me about them again until I re boot so its not a massive deal.

I am glad it worked. Honestly, I don't know anything about Raid setup or if it is working properly on OSX. But I do know that there are people using Raid on OSX. You can either create another topic under the relevant section or search for Raid and see what is brought to you.

Good Luck.
