I am trying to use the external VGA connector of my ASUS eeePC 1000h to hook up an external 15' Dell monitor to the netbook. however, while the monitor detects having been connected to some video source (it stops showing the self test graphics), the netbook just sits there idle. is there anything that can be done to use an external monitor on a 1000H? (mirroring or extension are both fine as far as I am concerned, I just want to see things on the larger screen!)

Hardware and Software in sig, however this is the detailed graphics card info as given by System Profiler:

Vendor: Intel (0x8086)

Device ID: 0x27ae

Revision ID: 0x0003

I tried tweaking device ids in a Natit.kext found on the web, but to no avail.

I found this out myself. You must boot the netbook with the second monitor hooked for OSX to recognize it.

DO NOT enable mirroring. it's gonna screw your display and is very hard to get rid of (I had to create an application that executed some applescript found on this forum via Automator in order to disable it..)
