I have an interesting question about usb/ide installs

hi everyone i have an interesting question, so i just finished install 10.6.2 on my netbook (acer aspire 1410-2039) after a long time of trying to get a hackintosh. well thing is i love it so much i want to put it on this other desktop i have, now my hdd is ide so when i boot ( for some reason i cant use a disk to install mac, had to use usb) with my usb key it doesnt recognize my drive. i was thinking i could use this ide to usb adapter for install, then switch back to ide, does anyone have any ideas if i can? if not i will try using acronis disk director suite and restore this back up i have of my netbook (with mac) onto that desktop? any ideas on how this will work? thanks guys
