Istart 1379 ideneb How to install

Hi there guys,

Today i will be making a tutorial on how to install ideneb v1.4 10.5.6 on a istart 1379 machine i am making this thread as i couldn't find anything around the web to help me but after many installs and re-installs I managed to get this beaut of an operating system running.I would like to point out that the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 has NO kext No Scrips so don't waist time asking

 

Pc Specs

Packard bell BV RC415 mobo

Chipset : ATI RS400/RC400/RC410

Southbrige : ATI SB600

CPU - Intel Celeron 360 3.46Ghz

MMX,SSE(1,2,3) EM64T

RAM - 512Mb DDR2

Graphics - ATI Radon Xpress 200 (working but cant changed resolution)

Audio -HD Realtek audio

 

What you will need

================

Ideneb v1.4 10.5.6

istart 1379

 

Step One

Get yourself a copy of ideneb v1.4 (10.5.6) and burn to a dvd disk at a slow burn speed

once this is done restart your p.c. and make your dvd driver the primary boot device (look in bios using F2)

Now when the dvd comes up press F8 and type the flag "-v" (without quotes) you will see a lot of scrolling text

this will eventually bring you to the select a language, Select what language u wish to use and click next

 

Step Two

Once past step one you will have to click continue then agree. Now navigate you mouse cursor to Utilities and select disk utilities from the drop down menu, click on the HDD you will be installing ideneb on and click on the Partition tab, Make volume scheme to 1 Partition and Volume info : Name Untitled (MUST be all ONE WORD for this to WORK) and make sure your HDD is set to MBR(Master Boot Record) in the left corner there will be an option guide and format this to Mac OS x Extender (Journal) and click apply once the HDD has finished formating you can now close disk utilities and select the drive you have just formated and click continue.

 

Step three

Click on Customization (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)

Select Exactly as i tell you to, you will need these ticked :

Audio - None selected (Step five for install)

Chipset - AppleATIATA

Kernel - 9.5.0 Voodo

Network - Ethernet - RTL8201CL

Fix - Cpus=1

System Utilities - None

Video - None

You can install the apps as you wish but i will still list what I have just incase you want it the same way i have it

ASU

BetterZIP

Kext helper (Highly Recommend)

OSx86Tools(Recommend)

 

click done and now Install you can skip the disk checking if you want to (I did)

Install should take about 15 - 20 mins depending on what apps you have added on

 

Step Four

Once installation has completed it will restart automatically remove the dvd from the tray once this has happened. When you get to a screen that says press and key to continue or something (Darwin /Chameleon boot loader) press F8 and type in these flags -f -x -v and hit enter

you should then get a lot of scrolling text then loads of small writing just wait this out and if all is good it should take you to the second part of the installation (you are in safe mode at this moment and will be until you restart)Just put in the information that it is asking you.

 

Step Five

Installing Audio

you will need to download a kext called Azalia (Link at bottom click on AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip)

once downloaded double click on the folder and an installation will start restart after this has finished when you get to the Darwin/Chameleon loader press F8 and type -v and hit enter (YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON PC ) Now you should see scrolling text and it will boot you in to your desktop again and there you have it sound should work fine to see if it has go to system Preferences and click on sound the output Tab

 

Step Six

Fix for the DMG kernel panic, fisrtly open up Terminal (Finder >Application > Utilities >Terminal) and type in uname -a this will tell you what darwin kernel you are running you should have 9.5.0 if you have version 1.4 ideneb (10.5.6) what you will now need to do is download a kext called seatbelt.kext from 10.5.5 (Attachment at Bottom)

once downloaded go to OSxTools (Finder>Ideneb apps>OSxtools) and click on install kext, go to download folder and double click on "Seatbelt.kext" and restart rember you have to click F8 on darwin/chameleon loader and flag with -v. Now test tis out by download a DMG fle such as Messenger For Mac.

 

Step Seven

Getting codecs for Quicktime. You will need to download Perian this is a swiss army knife for quicktime allowing you to watch Movies this is also a kext so install the same way that you installed the Seatbelt.kext (step Six) (TIP- to get Quicktime full screen the "+" does not work this is to make people buy QuicktimePro a simple way to get around this is to hold ALT+Shift+3/

 

Step Eight

Enjoy you new Hackitosh Machine

 

CONGRATULATION you now have 10.5.6 running on your PC system I hope this helped you out as i Had no help what so ever if u manage to find anymore bugs please let me know so i can try to fix them EXEPT for the Ati Radeon Xpress 200 there is no what possible to get CI/QE to work
