MrRandom
Hey everyone, I am trying to install OSX86 on my Acer M5811 and it will not boot into Darwin under straight boot from DVD or in VMWare however my Dell Inspiron 1501 boots the DVD perfectly fine. What could be wrong? Thanks a ton! -Brad Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/224649-wont-boot/ Share on other sites

Once A Mac Owner
Were you able to get this to boot and work natively on the desktop? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/224649-wont-boot/#findComment-1524892 Share on other sites
Catanonia
Installing OSX on different hardware requires different methods. VMWare virtualizes all sorts of hardware compared to a real machine. Search the forums for your hardware, mainly your motherboard and find a post relating to the method to use. Basically windows drivers = kexts in osx and they are specific to your hardware. Therefore one machine to another to a vmware are different. Even down to the version of motherboard.
