berfmurret Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 a few searches have turned up several SEVERAL different paths. should i start completely anew? or is there a WAY easier method to get myself to a working and stable 10.6.4? are there ways to set myself up to update easily when apple has new point releases? keep in mind i did this osx86 thing what feels like 2 years ago and haven't been keeping up with the scene since then!! so treat me as a n00b. cuz thats wut i iz. thx all! berfmurret Posted July 11, 2010 Author Share Posted July 11, 2010 just wanted to update to let future folks with the hardware i am running ( Gigabyte GA-G33M-D2SR mobo and EVGA 8800GTS 512mb gfx card ) that i used the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] / [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] method as described HERE ( http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html ) with RAGING SUCCESS! i haven't fully tested the system yet but internet was automatic and full resolution was up and running after the included nvidia injection was run after 10.6.4 update. everything seems honky dory so far!!! I tried the empire efi method first but ran into "still waiting for root device" over and over after trying a few different things. gave up on that after a solid 30 min of fail whale. i set up 2 partitions on a single disc so off i go to try to install win7 and get a dual boot going!
