Installing SL on a Gateway MX6933b

Hi all,

Had a quick search and couldn't find anyone trying this installation on my particular laptop type, a Gateway MX6933b. The specs:

Intel Core2Duo 1.66Ghz

2GB DDR2 RAM

Intel 945GMA Graphics

160GB HDD

I bought this a few years ago and it's very similarly specced to my friend's Macbook he got at the same time, even has the same CPU (I believe the graphics chip is the same as well), so I hoped that installing SL on it would be relatively easy using ##### Supported and the retail disc.

I've currently got Windows 7 Pro on one partition and have a 50GB unformatted partition I was planning to install OS X on. However, when I try to launch the installation from ##### I'm always told I need to restart my computer (and of course, Windows then tries to boot). Booting the installation in OS X safe mode gives the same result.

Is it realistically possible to install OS X on my machine this way, or will I have to get rid of my Windows partition? If so, would it then be possible for me to install Windows on a separate partition after OS X is up and running? I'd really rather have it as an option than just OS X.
