Having recently installed 10.6.4 on my P5Q-PRO, I have just got the issue of a working wireless card to sort out.

My outlook on the whole issue of wireless cards is this. As most wireless cards do not work with MAC OS X, I will buy one which does, and by this i mean natively. Basically in the hope that it will continue to be supported for a while.

So the plan is this:

Buying a Broadcom BCM94321MC, and a mini pci to pcie card so I can plug it into my Motherboard. As far as i am aware, this should work.

If you have information regarding working wireless cards in 10.6.4 please add information here. ie,

Card info/manufacturer etc,

32bit or 64bit mode compatibility

Installation instructions

Problems which have arisen

Or update the wiki with informative information.

We are fighting a losing battle getting non-apple wireless cards working with OSX, it is time to move on.

Your help is appreciated by myself, and many other users. Thank you.

The D-Link DWA-556 card works in 10.6.4. No modifications, plug and play - I dropped it into the board, fired it up and it was immediately recognized as an AirPort.
