jim256
Hi all, I've been away from the OSX86 scene for a while now, but have been anxiously awaiting and checking in on the release of iAtkos for Snow Leopoard. Well it is finally out, and has already undergone it's first update - which means it's time for me to plunge in! I've got the DVD downloaded, MD5's checked, and am about 3/4 the way through with backing up all of my data to an external off-site hard drive. My primary configurations are in my signature, and I am just seeking any and all advice / warnings that anyone has concerning my upcoming installation. I will be doing a completely clean install, using the entire HDD for the installation of only OS X. Nothing else will be on this drive. I will be installing via the iAtkos S3, version 2 DVD. I've read through the ReadMe, and general announcements of this release on uphuck.com, but still thought it prudent to gather advice! **What I am really seeking primarily - is what exactly I need to select in the customization section just before install.** What I was previously told to use on iAtkos for 10.5.7: Main system Chameleon V2 /Extra DSDT Appledecrypt smbiosenabler disabler OHR Graphic driver..... Nvenabler. AHCI intelSATA Speedstep Throttling control Voodoohda ps/2 Network driver (if you find yours there) Your language. Post install actions. This worked...mostly, just had a few small issues. I am also planning to update to 10.6.4 immediately. "Hardware info shot: http://jcgadgets.com/photo.jpg IDE interface: JMicron 20360/20363 AHCI (according to OSX86 Tools detect hardware) THANKS to this community again for everything! jim256
Any ideas anyone? I've ran it through a few times, and it seems as if my primary issues are with graphics and USB. Copying files to and from USB drives is painfully slow, and my graphics are very unsmooth on and off, but only on certain things. For example, when launching the Applications folder from the dock, the animation is slow and jagged. However, when launching the Documents stack, the animation is liquid smooth - very odd. I've updated to 10.6.4, modified and undone BIOS settings, etc...and these things will fix it or bring it back to the unsmooth state (depending on what I do). Very odd...ideas? When launching an app, the dock icon bounes very smoothly. Scrolling is very smooth on everything. But when using expose, animations are again terrible. I'm running in 64-bit mode (I think, not sure how to tell). Any and all help is appreciated! I would think that I've got enough information here to be able to get things sorted.
