Ok, so I thought Id be smart and do this Mac oSX thing. BUT things went wrong - I dd'd the image across according to the instructions etc and restarted the computer with boot magic...all good until I got to the startup and it says

"Loading PBR 3...done

HFS+ partition error"

OK so what do I do now? how do Iget it to load windows so I can make itdo the right thing...??

help??

it sounds as if you might be using grub to load OSX.

if this is the case, make sure you use:

rootnoverify (hdx,x)

chainloader +1

(where x's are hd and partition number) and not simply:

root (hdx,x)

chainloader +1

and not:

chainloader (hdx,x)+1

to verify / change this without booting linux you can hit esc to get to the text mode grub if you are not already there. then select the entry, hit e to edit, enter to confirm, d to delete a line, o to open a line, and b to boot the current entry.

you may need to provide more details so we can be of more help..

Unfortunately I wish I was using grub. :censored2: thanks for the advice anyway. Im using Boot magic that i set up in windows and then rebooted...and now well I just cant get anywhere. Does anyone know maybe a good boot cd that I can make from a mac and then put into my pc? any helpwould be appreciated!!!

Ok, Im really sorry for not providing any details. (I expect you to have a crystal ball :dev: ) I managed to get windows back up after much stress and jibes from my wife :) I downloaded a boot cd. So.... first some details!

Inspiron 6000, Intel 915 integrated graphics, 40 gb HDD, Pentium M 730 1.6ghz, normal bells and whistles - wifi, etc. I created a new partition, then dd'd the image across - tiger-x86-flat.img. now when I use bootmagic 8.0 to change the boot partition I get the HFS+ partition error! After reading most of the different install guides, I cant figure out how to fix this. there is one that says about how to do it in grub, but i cant figure out the wingrub interface. so if some one could offer me a further pointer it would be great!!

Cheers!!
