billabonk
Hi! I'm having trouble installing Snow Leopard on my netbook. Since I neither have access to another mac nor have an external dvd drive, I want to boot the snow leopard installation from usb. Alright so I have a usb stick on which I installed Chameleon and put the ~200MB of S/L/E/. And then I have a external hard drive on which I put the extracted Snow Leopard Installation files. Then I boot my netbook and enter rd=disk2s2 to use the partition from my external hdd as root device. Oh and I'm using mach_kernel_atom64. The kernel loads, but it shows this panic: panic(cpu 1 caller 0x474607): "Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed, errno 13\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1504.3.12/bsd/kern/kern_exec.c:3146 I only have these Extra Extensions: fakesmc.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext Do I need more? Or do how I fix this error and boot? Oh and I'm using Snow Loepard 10.6.3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/223689-help-me-starting-the-installation-from-an-external-hard-drive/ Share on other sites
