Hey there..

Ok - I struggled with getting my KX8 controller to work and then I managed to get it going.

1 - if you are using a USB interface for the controller, make sure your USB slots are recognized in the system profiler.

2. after installing the drivers for the KX49, go in to the disk utility and run "repair disk permissions" then reboot.

I did that and my KX8 is working perfectly with Logic Pro 9..

Hope that solves your problem.

still no luck i see it in system profiler but when i open reason and try to setup a midi controller i get (not selected) as my only option whereas on my old mac mini i get (yamaha k49 port 1) midi is literally the only thing that i have left to install once i get that i can say bye to my mac mini for ever.

When you go into audio setup in the utilities folder, go under the window option at the top and open up your midi window and see if it is listed in there.

If it's not there, then reason won't pick it up. If it isn't there, try and do a rescan in the midi window and see if it picks it up.

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

no dice, and yeah in the audio/midi setup the midi controller is not shown but in my system profiler under usb it shows that my computer can see it it's named Yamaha KX

Well, I'm not sure how to help anymore. My hack (MAC) knowledge is somewhat limited and this is something out of my league.

Sorry I couldn't be anymore help.

OMG Finally got it working it's funny cuz i was browsing thru here and saw a thread with usb and iphone read it and this person in general was having the exact same problem as me (system profiler sees it but mac won't read it) so i did what he said do and installed the iousbfamilykext from the thread. my kx was half way working (was recognized but didn't want to send any midi data to my computer) and it took my wireless tenda adapter away than i thought hey didn't ##### come with usb drivers, i thinking (already installed them but if they're newer how come my kx49 got picked up on the older drivers) so i went into the system/extra/extensions folder and dragged the iousbfamily kext mod 9.9.9 into the kext utility after that i ran disk utility and repaired permissions. it when i clicked restart i got a dreaded kernel panic. but once i booted backup wireless is back on and my kx49 is running beautifully. wow that was a lot of typing
