Hey Guys, Been reading this forum all week doing a install of iAtkos S3 V2 10.6.3 dual boot with Windows 7 64bit.

I'll be the first to say about a week ago a knew NOTHING about all this Hackintosh stuff.

10.6.3 was a very easy install for me using Chameleon V 2 RC4 with my Asus P5Kw board, then update to 10.6.4 no problems (Sleep Enabler not installed)

I've had several issues but most were worked out with a little reasearch on this, and other forums, although a lot of "fixes" were old and for previous versions of OS X, but not knowing better, I attempted some of them and I can honestly say I have installed OS X more than a person who has owned a "Real Mac" in ten years. I was not giving up until I got the system tweaked just right, well at least for me.

Time Machine was not working at first but with a little tweaking changing (E1) to (E0) on my ethernet card it's up and running without issues.

So, I've made a back up of my OS X, now I figured I would go into windows 7 and make a back up image also.

I found out that with Chameleon, that installed with iATKOS 10.6.3 on a second partition on my C: drive, that windows backup kept failing, made backups many times before so I knew it had to be something with the bootloader.

Like I said, I knew nothing about any of this just a few days ago.

So what I had to do was mark my windows partition as active then make the backup without problems. Now I have a backup of both my OS X 10.6.4(after update) and Windows 7.

Now in order to boot back into OS X using Chameleon I needed to make Windows 7 unactive and make my OS X partition Active again using Command Prompt that I found on another site:

DISKPART

LIST DISK

SELECT DISK n (where n is the number of the drive in question)

LIST PARTITION

SELECT PARTITION n (where n is the number of the active partition you wish to make inactive)

INACTIVE

EXIT

EXIT

Reboot

This worked great!

Now I guess the only couple of questions are, is there a better way?

This is not really a problem being I only perform image backups in Windows every month or so.

At least now I know it can be done.

How could you install Chameleon so that your Windows is active and the choice that is highlighted, but still have the ability to boot into OS X as a second choice?

Sorry this was so long, and hope this makes sense.

You Have to Install EasyBCD on your Windows 7 then Go to add new OS Chooser then pick the os x one but change the EFI to MBR (because PC is emulating EFI) then make windows 7 partition active
