el lissitzky
biostar tp35d2-a7 (ich9), wpn311, nvidia 8800 gts, ati hd4890 10.6.4 snow leopard resource Latest Update "Hey I am here updating again because my 8800 GTS ate {censored} (striped artifacts and inability to boot) and I just had to spend a couple days getting a HD4890 to work that my friend gave me. I jumped in trying to put some kexts in 10.6.4 but i kept getting panics from the x2000 kext. I ended up reinstalling over my install, updating to 10.6.3, downloading and installing the 10.6.3 drivers for the 4000 line cards and adding evoenabler.kext. one that worked i went and updated to 10.6.4 and then ran netkas's exotic cards 10.6.4 update and now i'm golden. =)" hey i've spent quite a bit of trial and error time trying to get my hackintosh to work and i'd like to share this info because this board isn't common but most of the chips are. this resource is meant for any piece of hardware listed here so if you need a kext or some info check it out; you might find what you are looking for. known/current issues: -*new* i reinstalled over my partition and now i have to boot with the ignore cache (-f) setting or i get "waiting for root device" -may not be specific to hackintosh as someone else mentioned but ejecting the cd rom using the keyboard causes spaces and keyboard to stop working. -no sleep, may be lack of sleep settings for board's bios -i have found little to no information on how to get the color calibration to work with my old nvidia gts 8800. once i went to snow leopard the calibration tool sliders have been busted. -i've recently run into what i suspect is an overheating gpu with my new ati hd 4890. i've gone and modified the fan settings according to: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t227787.html and i think this will work. more to come. setup step 1- setup a snowleopard install on an external and setup a bootloader on the drive you are installing to. (this was along time ago for me, so you may want to research another install tutorial. step 2- i'm going to up my latest working kexts and dsdt for the hardware so grab those and drop them in the "extra" folder (DON'T DROP THE APPLEHDA.KEXT IN THE EXTRAS FOLDER, GO TO STEP 3) that the bootloader put in your root director of your partition you are using. (note i think my dsdt is customized for my pci wireless card and maybe some other things so that might cause some trouble if you have some different hardware.) step 3- so that should get you booting properly. for sound you will need to drop the applehda.kext into "kext utility" once you are in the O/S. i won't include that but a quick google search should help you with that. step 4- for video you want to download a great app called "efistudio". just run that when you are in the o/s and find your model card and add it to the boot.plist which there is a button for somewhere in there. so this is pretty brief but it is about as best as you can get for some of this hardware right now. if you need any detailed help or have questions go ahead and reply to this. thanks to anyone who has helped me, created these files/softwares i mention or post. dsdt.aml.zip PlatformUUID.kext.zip OpenHaltRestart.kext.zip NVEnabler_64.kext.zip NullCPUPowerManagement.kext.zip IO80211Family.kext.zip FakeSMC.kext.zip AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext.zip AppleHDA.kext.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/223095-biostar-tp35d2-a7-ich9-wpn311-nvidia-8800-gts-ati-hd4890-1064-snow-leopard-resource-and-build-guide/ Share on other sites
