michael.su
Hey everyone, I have 2 hard drives. #1 is running iPC 10.5.6 and #2 is running iDeneb 10.5.8. For sound on my Hackintosh, I use a usb sound adapter. Under my iPC 10.5.6 hard drive, sound works flawlessly. on the other hard drive, running iDeneb 10.5.8, I get crackling and garbled sound from the microphone.(while recording) I've tried to compare files in the extension folder and there are quite a few differences but I'm trying to figure out what the problem kext/s are. most of the kexts involving sound seem to be all there but are larger in size on the 10.5.8 drive which kind of to make sense to me. I've tried installing the APPLEUSBAUDIO.kext from 10.5.6 to the 10.5.8 drive but that broke the audio all together so I restored the original. I'm not sure what other files are related. I've searched a bit here and on the web but have not found much information applicable to my situation. Any ideas what files I need or need to look at in particular? My specs are in my signature. any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
