Snow leopard 10.6.2 dns not working unless mDNSResponder is killed

Hey everyone was wondering whether anyone has found a better way of solving this problem

on my laptop i have snowleopard 10.6.2 installed my atheros wireless is working fine but the dns does not work until i execute the command

sudo killall mDNSResponder

after this mDNSResponder restarts and i can surf the net fine is there a better way of doing this or a fix so this command doesn't have to be executed everytime? Or does anyone know what is actually causing the problem

Laptop: Acer 5335

OS:Hazard snow leopard 10.6.2 64bit
