I have recently installed Leopard 10.5.8 onto by Alienware m15x (R1) and it is working just fine, however I have a question regarding the video.

My native resolution is 1920x1200, and works good, however some video modes do not. These modes are 640x480, 1024x786, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200. They produce black screens when you select them. All other modes, including the stretched version of these modes work fine.

Is there any way to get these modes back? I installed Steam as some of my games have MAC versions now, but they default to 1024x768, so I cannot see anything and have to press ALT-Q to get out of them.

With my system, Sleep, Video, Sound, Webcam, Trackpad, USB, Bluetooth, and Ethernet work fine. Wifi and Firewire do not. I use a small Ralink 11n USB device for wifi that works pretty good. The beta Intel PRO/Wireless (11n) drivers give a panic.

Thanks again.

Hardware:

Alienware m15x (first gen)

Intel Core 2 Duo X7900 Extreme Edition 2.8GHz

nVidia 8800M GTX 512M (1920x1200 native resolution)
