Mikey B
Let me start by saying that I am in no way a total noob as I have been able to install and upgrade my “hackintosh” up to 10.5.8 using the methods described in my profile and through extensive trial and error. But I am also not where I need or want to be with OSx86. I have to thank the entire InsanelyMAC community and this forum for helping me get where I am at. Only through this forum and plain stubbornness was I able to get this far. In saying that I am at the end of my rope and have reached my limits and know it is time to ask for help. I have been able to find extensive tools and software to assist me but cannot seem to find my fix. Thanks to this forum my dock is loaded with these tools, lol. Using these tools I have been able to compile a “systems info file and would appreciate it if someone could look at them and help me with this problem. I am currently using the following tools to gather this date : OSx86 Tools by PC Wiz/ Open GL Viewer/ DSDTSE v 1.2.4 by EvOx86/ KEXT HELPER b7 OH BTW -My problem is I cannot get a resolution greater than 1024x768 and have tried hundreds of things to do so. I know that the hardware supports it and I had it working at one time on a different setup and different bootloader but I cannot for the life of me remember which one . “ I am such a noob, lol” Once again, any help with this would be sincerely appreciated. THANKS P.S My Device ID is 8086:2572 As an update to my last post I finally was able to change my resolution . Here is what I did. Using PC Tools OSx86 by PC Wiz I added an EFI String/ Boot Flag of 1600x1200x32 ( no refresh rate set). Since I was in there I went ahead and added -v -f as I get better results with my network drivers using this function This verifies that I was able to reach this resolution however I still do not have any resolution options as this is hard coded in the EFI String/Boot flag. I am assuming that by doing this PC Wizard is setting the display "Graphics mode" for me instead of me typing it in during the boot. All I can say is, at this resolution, is "WOW" since I am using a 28" flat screen this has made all the difference in the world.
