d-track
hi, 10.6.4 up and running on a core2duo cpu and asus p5gc-mx1333 mobo with intel gma950. everything worked perfect. installed 10.6.0 vanilla first, then updated to 10.6.3 via apple software update. i am using the original gma kexts since i have found a working dsdt for my mobo/intel vga. i have checked that there is always vertical sync enabled so no tearing at high fps fullscreen videos like youtube etc. i cant remember exactly when it is turned off but all i get is an awful tearing of the screen caused by the lack of vsync. there were a 10.6.3.1 additional update, maybe that caused this. 10.6.4 is out now so i had big hopes. installed and still no vsync. any ideas? i tried to install 10.6.3 again but snow doesnt let me downgrade. a complete reinstall then go straight to 10.6.3? the problem is i am not sure the 6.3.1 update caused the tearing and i have tons of stuff installed and configured on my current installation. searched the forums but nothing related so far Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/222604-vsync-has-gone-awful-screen-tearing-adobe-cs5-warning/ Share on other sites
d-track
it was adobe cs5. trashing won't help, you need to do a complete reinstall of osx gma950 is not supported but cs5 turns off vsync then no option to turn it back. gma950+cs5=FAIL Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/222604-vsync-has-gone-awful-screen-tearing-adobe-cs5-warning/#findComment-1498451 Share on other sites
