Roshambo
Hello, I'm new to hackintosh and this is my first attempt to install any version on an AMD X2/Abit MB. I downloaded iATKOS v7, checked the md5, burned it as an disk image 3 seperate times with three different programs. I've tried different DVD drives, Flash Drives, Loaded defaults in BIOS.. The works. I can't even get this DVD to boot.. I get "Boot from CD:_" And nothing happens... Eventually, after a few minutes it just says "DISK BOOT FAILURE: Blah blah" - Obviously, it's not reading the DVD. But why? Just to be sure the system hardware was working correctly. I installed an official Windows 7 DVD, and it was up and running in 15 minutes. So I know all the hardware is working properly. Reading around, I see mention of a Bootloader.. I'm unsure whether I'm supposed to do something with this ISO I downloaded. I was under the impression that I just popped it in, fixed a few things in the BIOS, and off I went. Am I mistaken? I've tried checking out some tutorials, but none of them seem to go in depth on the booting process and preperation of the DVD. So, I guess my question is. Am I supposed to do something else with this ISO BEFORE I burn it as an image? Or, is there some step that I'm missing just to get it to even boot? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! Benjibobson
I am experiencing the same problem. I have tried other Iatkos DVD's wich cause the same problem. Have you tried booting from a USB? Any help would be apreciated.
