satch_yt Posted June 20, 2010 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Hey everybody, I have a perfectly running 10.5.8, and my specs are in my signature, My sata DVD drive seems to be working fine but most of the time, while copying/installing something it stops to read and becomes irresponsive, after that point I can not cancel the copy/install process, or restart / shutdown the computer, force quit doesn't also work, I thought maybe installing an IDE drive would fix this but with IDE drive, it gives me a kernel panic as soon as I insert a cd/dvd. Any help would be much appreciated. I don't care about the IDE drive but I need to fix the SATA drive. p.s: sata configuration is set to AHCI mode, and the drive is ok, I installed the system with the same setup. Thanks.
