aberz Posted June 20, 2010 Share Posted June 20, 2010 First off, I am new to OSX86 so yeah , please take it easy on me. I am also aware that this error is quite common. I have done my research try different things, but no hope. My system is Dell xps 400. I have some upgrade for it (3gb Ram, 1.5TB HDD and Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB ) , other than that everything is the same. Below is my complete spec report I have checked HCL and follow the recommended distro Leo4all V2 and Kalyway 10.5.2 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...esktops#XPS_400 I want a dualboot system XP and OSX86, followed the installation instruction here http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 Partition the boot hard drive ( with XP on it ) as in the the instruction. Fat32 , 20gb for the MacOS partition. XP already pre installed on the same HDD , different partition boot: rd=disk0s2 -v after a couple mins : Error: Firewire unable to determine security -mode, defaulting to full -secure Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device. I tried to use Leo4all V2, same issue. also tried -f -x From what Ive read, this error is either due to my partition or DVD device. Ive checked my partition (rd=disk0s2) and disconnect the 2nd hard drive.
