shlee76
Hi All, I am new user in Mac OS. I have installed OS X 10.6, all devices are working fine except the Graphic X1800 driver is working only on 1024*768 resolution. How can I change to 1920*1200, which driver should I use? Please help. Best regards, shlee76

Khan_Man
Hi, I haven't specifically got a x1800 snow leopard machine but I ran an x1800 card for many years in Tiger and Leopard. I usually just had to add my device ID to the ATIRadeonX1000.kext I was trying to find a tutorial for adding a device id to a kext but can't find a definitive one. roughly: - you are going to have to find out what your device ID is. sometime OS X will show U this under system profiler, sometimes U have to install OSX86 tools, U can use Windows and dxdiag to get device ids... U can google it and find what is best for U. -drag your System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000.kext kext out onto your desktop. -right click on kext and "show contents" - open the "Contents" folder - right click on Info.plist and open with TextEdit - in the section that looks like this.... <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x71461002 0x71421002 0x71091002 0x71C51002 0x71C01002 0x72401002 0x72491002</string> add your string - save and close the text document - use kext helper to install back to S/L/E - check permissions and clear caches and reboot. Don't take my word for it. do a search for "add device ID to kext" , and read more. it has to be done right and U have to understand what you are doing.
