SL on Sony Vaio VPC-F11Z1E/BI

Hi,

a friend has a Vaio VPC-F11Z1E/BI with Core i7, GT 300M and 8GB RAM.

The new MacBooks have the same CPU and graphic card, too...

Can I install the Retail SL without any "problems"?

What driver do I need for sound, lan and so on?

My problem is, that my friend doesn't have internet currently and I have only a limited download volume with UMTS at my MacBook Pro...so I must download the drivers first.

Do I have to install the MacBook Pro Update?

Please, can someone tell me, wich drivers and software I need?

Thanks!

Right now, it's a really bad idea. The LCD isn't properly supported and you won't be able to get on the internet except over bluetooth or firewire.

Good luck dude ;) I'd keep it in windows, it's a grea tlaptop there.

The display (LED, not LCD) must be supported? I thought the graphic card must be supported, only...it's a 330M, like in the new MBPs.

The internet over BT and FW isn't importand - he has WLAN (so the WLAN device must be supported).

The laptop is great, yes. But Windows is .... - I wouldn't say this, you can think, what you want :)

He buyed it very cheap (around 700€ - original it's nearly 1200 - 1300€). He didn't had money for a MacBook with this hardware.

And Linux is a little bit to hard for him :(

I will test it.

Does anyone know what wireless lan and sound devices are in this notebook?

In the Windows settings aren't any information -.-

Hi,

is something changed for this laptop? I'm an owner of this vaio too.

I've already successfully installed Mac Osx 10.6.4 on an Asus P6T Deluxe, now it's time to my laptop to became an hackintosh!

Can anyone help me? I've only found bad news (about led display/audio/video/wifi)...
