Wayfarer247
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been here, so give me a small break. I'm helping a friend install OS X on his computer so he can help me with some iPhone development until he gets enough money to buy a real Mac. I downloaded iDeneb 1.6 Lite for him, and burned it, slow speed and all that. First time we installed I had him select the vanilla kernal, but that didn't work, so next time we left everything as default, didn't touch any customization, and went straight to the install. Upon rebooting, we got the "boot1 : error" And his computer didn't boot. I changed which Partition had the "Boot" flag from OS X to windows, (yes, we are dual booting) so his windows would boot, and it does. Next we installed EasyBCD 2.0, and I've been trying to get him into Leopard for a while now, with no luck. The two best options we've added are "Mac: EFI" "Mac: MBR" Both of these bring us to the Chameleon boot loader. If we hit the EFI option, it shows us both Leopard and windows, if we hit the MBR option, Chameleon only shows us Leopard. IF we select MBR, and then Leopard from Chameleon, it flashes the OS X Start ups screen before rebooting the computer. The Mac EFI option to load chameleon doesn't get us any further. I'm kinda at a lost as to where to go from here. OS X seems to try to start to boot, but then fails. Any idea why? Does iDeneb install a Kernel as default, or did we (in not selecting one) cause it to not choose a Kernel at all? Help would be appreciated. I'm not sure as to his computer specs, but I remember looking at it and knowing OS X should install, it has a Intel Processor with some integrated graphics.
