bcyclon Posted June 16, 2010 Share Posted June 16, 2010 Hello everyone, after trying 10 times with iDeneb 1057 & 1058 and iATKOS v7 with trying various configurations in the "personalization" and trying the minimal installation(wo various fix and driver, only essential), I am not come to head. the situation : -500GB [win7 (320gb) and Leopard (remaining)] -500GB [archive] I always proceed like this: from partitioning out win7 then initialized at mac setup, customize and install. boot into windows, mac with EasyBCD and add chain0. boot mac from multiboot, start chameleon v2 but then nothing to do. hangs with the words starting with darwin or verbose this beautiful screen: my pc: ep45ds3r ich10r q6600 gtx260 4gb ddr2 SORRY 4 MY BAD ENGLISH Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/221355-darwin-not-start-seems-not-to-load-the-kernel/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
muchlife Posted July 1, 2010 Share Posted July 1, 2010 you should be doing a retail install. there is no reason to use iAtkos or iDeneb, when your hardware barely needs any patches or fixes. 1) install retail 10.5.6 2) install chameleon, set up your kexts, etc 3) install windows 7, then use chameleon bootloader to select booting into OSX or Windows 7 (if windows 7 install breaks the bootloader, you just have to use the grub_dfe disc to boot into OSX and set the partition as active again) Here is a summarized guide to gigabyte EP45 boards with ICH10R and ALC889a chipset so you can install with retail disc and use the Vanilla kernel (modified guide from Auzigog here) I have attached grub_DFE.iso and my EP45 kext package at the bottom of this post COPIED from Auzigog - edited to suit how I isntall on EP45 boards 1. Boot with GRUB-DFE boot cd. -1. At the “fake darwin” screen it will say have a prompt that says “Boot:”. Switch out the boot cd for retail leopard. -2. When prompted for a 2-digit hex number, press “fe” to boot to the Leopard CD. any retail disc should work but 10.5.6 is preferred 2. Once you’re in the installer, format your drive (Utilities > Disk Utility). Make sure the partition type is set to GUID. (set aside a partition for Windows as FAT if you want here) -1. Install OS X normally. (can uncheck printer and language) -2. When installation is done, restart (you might have to do this forcefully) and place the boot cd back in. -3. Boot to the boot CD as before. -4. This time when you’re prompted for a 2-digit hex number, enter “80″ to boot to your hard drive. (80 is first drive, first partition, 81 is next partition, etc) -5. Boot with -x when your given options to start your leopard drive 3. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the Leopard installation -1. When prompted to register, press CTRL+Q and select “skip” -2. When you create your account, keep in mind you can only have each username once. If you plan to migrate files from a previous OS X installation, pick a different “Name” and “Short Name” -3. Once this is done, it should load you into OS X. 4. Install all updates (including 10.5.6) from Software Update. Restart when directed to. -1. Boot from the GRUB-DFE disc again -2. Use -v at the real Darwin screen so you have verbose output. The update should apply itself during the boot process. When you see “MACH Reboot”, go ahead and forcefully restart the computer. 3. Boot from the GRUB-DFE disk yet again, boot with -x option 5. Download and install Chameleon bootloader - Chameleon-2.0-RC2-r640.pkg.zip is package i prefer (i uncheck kexts chameleon opts to install, you can install if you sure you want them) 1. This will create /Extra/Extensions folder on your leopard partition where you can put kexts 2. Reboot but this time take out the grub boot CD, and let Chameleon start, choose your leopard partition and again use -x 6. Install kexts, drivers - Download kext utility, kext helper, osx86tools to assist 1. install your kexts to System/Library/Extensions or Extra/Extentions - if your using my MuchLife-UD3P package I use, i labeled which folder I put them in. use kext utility to repair permissions. SMBIOS, DSDT files and your edited com.apple.boot.plist file go in Extra/ folder 2. When all kexts, drivers, boot files are edited etc, and permissions repaired, restart 7. At chameleon boot, choose leopard 1 last time, and choose -f to be sure it rebuilds kext Finishing up 1. System Preferences > Sound > Output > Switch it to “internal speakers” (i didnt have to do this, sound worked fine) 2. UUID.kext - go to disk utility, right click on leopard partition, find Universal Unique Identifier # and copy, edit the UUID.kext to paste that # in, save and restore the edited UUID.kext 3.
