IS there a kext or something that can stop me from getting the 'You Need To Restart Your Computer Page'. Or something I can do in the terminal.

-f -v and see what error (with dependencies)

after

-s

wait for root#

type

mount -uw /

rm -rf /system/library/extensions/kextname.kext

exit

*kextname.kext = kext that you identified in withdependencies did when booting with "-f -v"

Sorry, I'm more of a visual learner, but I've taken pictures of the '-f -v' and where it stops.

use http://imageshack.us/

can not access the photo

I need a photo like this

showing where the error is

you need to wait for the end of messages

where the screen hangs

but where is this screen is locked I want to see

you reinstall the system, it can make the same mistake

so it is worth finding out what this error e before making the final install

yesterday you said you were giving KP

with the -f -v it will show the error that caused the KP

use arch=i386 -f -v

ok?

arch=i386 -s

when you open the "root#" you type these commands

-----------------------------------------

mount -uw / *press the enter key

rm -rf /system/library/extensions/appletymcedriver.kext *press the enter key

exit *press the enter key

----------------------------------------

you need to type as it is

dont forget the spaces

It's stuck at the screen that looks like the one I took the picture of, with Nano Seconds at the bottom.

the error continues? ---> com.apple.driver.appletymcedriver

see if this same error or other error

just below the withdependencies

if you are not the same typed some commands

Yeh thats like 3/4 down, and yeh Kernel with Independences, I guess I'm entering that now? And do I have to use the caps? of 'com.apple.driver.AppleTyMCEDriver'

no

type

mount -uw /

rm -rf /system/library/extensions/appletymcedriver.kext

exit

*do not forget the "spaces" and "/"

the photos were to identify and delete the kext (appletymcedriver)

and it seems that you could

but now another error appeared

example

arch=i386 -f -v

example

see the error

applety.jpg

arch=i386 -s

"root #"

rooty.jpg

mount -uw /

rm -rf /system/library/extensions/appletymcedriver.kext

exit

I just do not understand how yesterday you could enter the system using the-x

Today we delete the kext that was giving the KP

kext that does not cause any problem

try again with the arch=i386 -f -v

*EDIT

wait for verification

I am trying to install Snow Leopard onto my laptop and pc.

PC - Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5ghz, 4gb RAM, Nvidia Geforce 9500GT 1gb, LG DVD R/RW, 1 500gb HDD, 1 1.5tb HDD.

Laptop - Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 2.0ghz, 4gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD3470 256mb, DVD R/RW, 1 250gb HDD.

I have partitioned my PC's 500gb HDD and my laptops 250gb for the OS.

Now when I boot in safe mode I get as far as the 'Transfer Mac Data' screen then it stops. If I don't boot in safe mode I get a kernel panic.

I have tried using this guide but 'passwd root' doesn't work for me.

I am also using the Legacy kernel.

Can anyone offer any help or guidance?

was getting a panic until i stopped installing voodoo kernel

That's what I've been doing, but it gets stuck.

I still can enter -x.

http://img291.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dsc00658c.jpg That's where it stops.

Okay I just tried what you've told me to do on my pc, and it exits, and Mac OS seems to boot, but my monitor shuts off as no signal is detected.

Well I just did a fresh install on my pc, and then did what you've been telling me for my laptop, it worked straight away and I'm writing this from the Mac OS on my pc. Now I've tried editing the boot.plist but it can't save, and I still can't get the kexts of the disk as the background is just orange. What do you recommend I do next? And I can't install the video drivers for my laptop if you believe that's the problem as again, I can't access the disk. But thank you for getting me this far.
