DannyBoye
I have to delete extensions.kext and extensions.kextcache to reboot in osx in order to reboot. If I don't I get the forbidden error at the mac startup screen. When I boot into -v it gets stuck on something about iousb something. I cant get the exact error because if I do I have to reinstall osx. If I don't delete the files before I restart osx I cant get into osx. Does this make since? BTW I'm posting from osx on a hp pavilion notebook, zv5330us. Got wireless working but have no sound. Video works fine, no artifacts. I just cant figure out this problem with having to delete the files. If I don't delete the files and get the forbidden error, then when I try to get into my mac hard disk with mac drive it says the drive was not unmounted properly, so it's read only. IE I cant delete the files from within windows at that point and I have to re-install OS X. belgrano
Boot with "-s" at boot prompt (that is single user mode). Then: fsck -fy mount -uw / rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kexcache reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/22099-extensionskext-has-to-be-deleted-to-reboot/#findComment-146096 Share on other sites
