imrazor
I've gotten SL successfully installed on my trusty old Gigabyte P35-DS3L using Hazard's 10.6.1/2 ISO. However, I'm still having a problem with the JMicron kext. (I'm assuming that it's for the JMicron ATA controller, and not the eSATA controller since my DVD drive is dead in the water without it.) Whenever I try to boot with the JMicron kext (and it's injector) I get a KP and can't boot. As soon as I move the JMicron kexts out of S/L/E, it boots fine, though I have no optical drive (my DVD is an ATA NEC ND-3550A.) Since it still KPs even with memsize=2048, I don't believe this is the 4GB bug that's stickied at the top of the forum (though I do have exactly 4GB of RAM.) Has anyone had similar problems with the JMicron kext? Would loading the kext without the injector do any good?
imrazor
Well, I was right. Removing the JMicron injector did enable my optical drive, though I'm still getting some weirdness with DVD-RW discs. Maybe this will help someone else...
